Do you really, (really) want to grow your business?

Do You Really Want To Grow Your Business?
This is a conversation I sometimes have with my clients after working together for a few weeks. Up to this point, we've been organizing, systematizing, shooting training videos, and getting ready for that new hire. We might have the job description written and we’ll have reconfirmed the necessary revenue needed to support a new hire. And then comes a pause—almost like the calm in the storm. The energy and the original inspiration tend to flatten out. That’s when I'll look at my client and say, “Do you really want to grow? Or would your life be easier if you stayed a solopreneur with better systems, and a sufficient income to support yourself?”
Sometimes the reality of what it actually takes to scale a business is daunting. Up to this pause point with a client, there’s been nothing but excitement in systematizing processes to make things more ready to turn over to an assistant. But sometimes it’s worth revisiting the original goal. Do you want to add this next layer of staff and increased revenue?
Ultimately, my client will decide to press forward. Sometimes the audacity of the question is all it takes to gather up fresh determination and conquer the goal.
If you’ve been unsure about whether you want to grow; ask for a consultation. Someone who has “been there and done that” can help you sort out your reasons for wanting to grow and help you decide if you have the energy and the willpower to make it happen. There's nothing wrong with keeping things small depending on your strengths and goals. There's no wrong answer to the question of to grow or not to grow. If this has been on your mind, don’t hesitate to call for a free consultation.
